My parents always warned us kids to never go to Harry’s Diner out on route nine. It was a dangerous and sinful place they said. It was full of rapscallions, ne'er-do-wells and people of questionable moral filters. They also said the food was barely above poisonous.
I told my friends these warnings, but none of them had even heard of the place. So of course as soon as I got my first car that’s the first place I went, and in the first booth were Mom and Dad. Their private, let’s get away from the kids spot was ruined forever.
